Kelly Candaele currently serves
as a Board Member of the Los Angeles City Employees'
Retirement System (LACERS)
Board of Administration.
Mr. Candaele is a writer, filmmaker
and elected official in Los Angeles. For the
past ten years Mr. Candaele has written extensively
for the Los Angeles Times, the New
York Times, The Nation magazine,
and other national publications. Mr. Candaele
has also lectured at Hebrew University in Jerusalem,
Occidental College in Los Angeles, and is an
Adjunct Associate Professor of Philosophy at
California State University, Chico. He is a founding
member of the Peace Institute.
In the 1990s, Mr. Candaele was
Policy Director at the Los Angeles County Federation
of Labor, and in 1996 he was elected to the Board
of Trustees of the Los Angeles Community College
District, where he has served three terms as
a Trustee and two terms as the Board President.
Mr.
Candaele studied European History at the University
of California, Santa Barbara. He obtained a Masters
Degree in Psychology and Counseling from California
State University, Chico.
