Public Information Director Linda Aparicio manages the Member Communications Section and implements the outreach plan to LACERS 41,000 Members.   Member Communications is responsible for Lunchtime Lecture & Planning for Retirement seminars, media relations, website content development, newsletters, brochures, flyers, information fairs, and special events.

Ms. Aparicio joined the City of Los Angeles in 1989, and worked in the Department of Transportation, Public Works and General Services before arriving at LACERS in January 2007.

Ms. Aparicio earned her bachelors degree in journalism with a minor in sociology from California State University, Los Angeles.  She holds certificates in Crisis Communications from the Federal Emergency Management Agency's Emergency Training Institute in Emmitsburg, Maryland and the California Specialized Training Institute of the Governor's Office of Emergency Services.
