Ruth Perry currently serves as LACERS' Departmental Personnel Director and is responsible for all aspects of human resource services within the department.

Ms. Perry has been in City service for over fifteen years and has held classifications from Clerk Typist to Senior Management Analyst II.  She first joined LACERS in 2001 as supervisor of the Service Retirements Unit.  She left in 2005 to enhance her career in the personnel field and returned to LACERS in late 2006 to serve in her current capacity.

Ms. Perry's personnel experience dates back to 1982 when she served three years in the United States Army as a Personnel Records Specialist, followed by administrative assistant work at UCLA Neuropsychiatric Institute, and finally City service.  She has worked in personnel-related positions at the Department of Public Works and the Office of the City Clerk, where she assisted the Mayor's, Council's, and Chief Legislative Analyst's Offices.
