iPod Winner Revealed
LACERS member Jean Childs is the winner of the iPod drawing held during the Public Service Awareness showcase held at the Los Angeles Mall. Sergeant Childs accepted the prize in front of the LACERS Board of Administration on July 10, 2007.
Ms. Childs approached the LACERS staff to sign up for the "Planning for Retirement" seminar. Steven Reifel of Member Communications not only signed her up for a seminar but helped calculate her LACERS retirement benefit. It was then that she learned about the iPod drawing.
Sergeant Jean Childs is a Senior Security Officer for the Department of General Services - Office of Public Safety and a recipient of the "Uncommon Jobs for Women" award under Mayor Tom Bradley. After 32 years of Service, her plan is to retire in a few years.
