Background: The El Pueblo and Alive! Publications have printed an article about a “new LACERS benefit”. It explains that A Solution for Caregivers is available to all LACERS Members and that they have been automatically enrolled. It provides the service number and encouraged people to call.

What is A Solution for Caregivers?
A Solution for Caregivers is a program that provides assistance to anyone caring for someone or receiving care.

As a LACERS Member, have I been automatically enrolled in the program?
No. Only eligible Members are enrolled.

Who is eligible to receive this program?
Only retired Members enrolled in a LACERS medical plan. This program is NOT available to active Members or retired Members using a medical plan other than those offered through LACERS.

Can I still call the number provided in the article?
The number should only be used by those Members who are actually enrolled in A Solution for Caregivers.

How can I find out more about Caregiving?
LACERS will be announcing upcoming dates for Caregiver Training. This is open to all LACERS Members. Your name can be placed on a waiting list and you will be contacted when new seminar dates are set.
