Eligibility
As
a retired LACERS Member or an eligible Surviving Spouse/Qualified
Domestic Partner who receives a monthly retirement or continuance
check from LACERS, you are eligible to enroll in a LACERS sponsored
medical and/or dental plan or may participate in the Medical
Premium Reimbursement Program if you meet certain requirements.
However, you may/may not be eligible to receive the LACERS
medical plan subsidy. Please refer to the Subsidies
and Deductions section for more information.

Dependents
Eligible
dependents may enroll in the same medical and/or dental care
plans as you do. Eligible dependents include:
- Lawful
spouse or qualified domestic partner
- Unmarried
children under age 19; or between ages 19 and 25, if full-time
students
- Children
who became mentally or physically handicapped before age
19 and are incapable of supporting themselves
- Grandchildren,
provided you or your spouse/domestic partner is the legal
guardian or has legal custody of the grandchild; or the grandchild
is the child of a dependent child as defined above
