LACERS Members Applaud Open Enrollment Retirement Fairs

LACERS’ Open Enrollment Retirement Fairs generated widespread approval by the retired Members who attended them in Pomona, South Bay, Van Nuys, Las Vegas and downtown Los Angeles during the month of October. Designed to generate interest in LACERS’ health plans, the fairs attracted a total of 684 City employees. The downtown Retirement Fair at the New Otani Hotel included 202 Retired Members and 88 Active Members nearing retirement who attended a “By Invitation Only” provider presentation on October 21st.

The Retirement Fairs gave Members the opportunity to directly speak to their medical and dental plan providers, and address any plan changes and concerns they had about their health plans.

In addition, Retirement Fair attendees were given the opportunity to participate in various health screenings and seminars, massage therapy, raffles and complimentary meals. Blue Cross sponsored the Retirement Fairs in Pomona, South Bay, Van Nuys, and Las Vegas while Kaiser Permanente sponsored the Retirement Fair at the New Otani Hotel.
