Robert A. Chick was appointed to the Board of Administration of the Los Angeles City Employees' Retirement System by Mayor Antonio R. Villaraigosa. Mr. Chick serves as Chair of the Audit & Strategic Planning Committee.
Mr. Chick has served as the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Lawyers' Mutual Insurance Company since 2009 and as Vice Chairman from 2003 to 2009. He was President and Chief Executive Officer from 1978 to 2003.
His public service includes membership on several City commissions including the Los Angeles Board of Library Commissioners from 2001 through the present, the Los Angeles Board of Airport Commissioners from 1984 to 1993, and the Los Angeles Board of Transportation Commissioners from 1977 to 1984. Additionally, he served as president at each of these commissions.
Mr. Chick holds bachelor's and master's degrees in Law from Oxford University as well as a bachelor's degree in Public Administration from the University of Southern California .
