Did You Know If You Are Eligible to Retire, You Can Retire Immediately?
The City of Los Angeles has adopted the Expedited Retirement Ordinance* allowing LACERS
Members to retire immediately if they are facing layoffs. The ordinance may also be extended to all LACERS Members based on the fi scal condition of the City** upon the Mayor’s direction. At this time, any Member for whom retiring is a viable option may take advantage of the Expedited Retirement Ordinance.

To retire under the Expedited Retirement Ordinance, you still must meet Retirement Eligibility Rules available at www.LACERS.org.

The ordinance is effect through December 18, 2011 and may be extended. (The ordinance is always in effect for any Members facing layoffs.)
