SUBJECT: REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS FOR A HEALTH AND WELFARE CONSULTANT
QUESTIONS & ANSWERS:
The Los Angeles City Employees' Retirement System (LACERS), an $8.0 Billion fund, is seeking proposals from health and welfare consultants to procure health benefits through competitive negotiations, and assist in the design and administration of LACERS health benefits program for its 15,000 retirees and their dependents. This would include assessing plan costs, actuarial analysis and claims auditing, analysis of health plan vendor proposals, regulatory compliance, benefits design, general consulting, and support for program planning and administration.
Respondents must have at least five years of experience advising public employers or public retirement systems on health and welfare issues, including fee negotiations.
The RFP and other required standard provision documents may be downloaded from this website. LACERS must receive proposals by 3:00 PM Pacific Standard Time, December 23, 2008. An optional bidder's conference is scheduled to be held at LACERS on Wednesday, December 10, 2008 at 10:00 AM.
