LACERS Well has partnered with the Senior Services Foundation to facilitate our first educational “Sip and Paint” event at the Friendship Auditorium, 3201 Riverside Dr., Los Angeles. This informative event will feature professionally vetted speakers who will discuss brain health, stress relief, and the benefits of creative activities such as painting.

LACERS COST OF LIVING ADJUSTMENT EFFECTIVE JULY 1
The LACERS Board of Administration has approved the maximum allowable Cost-of-Living Adjustment (COLA) for eligible LACERS Retired Members and Beneficiaries at 3.0% for Tier 1 and Tier 1 Enhanced Members and 2.0% for Tier 3 Members. Click here for more information on the COLA increase and the availability of any banked excess. Retirees and Beneficiaries will receive the increase on their July 31st paycheck.

MAY IS MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS MONTH
May is Mental Health Awareness Month. Did you know that nearly one in five adults in the US has a mental health condition? If there is someone in your life struggling with their mental health, the best thing you can do is reach out and start a conversation. Educate yourself on the realities of living with mental health issues and the stigma it often brings. Just supporting those in your life can spread the message of awareness and acceptance.

Join us for (2) Fitness 5K Hike-Walk-Run facilitated by Sean Foy. The first 5K takes place on Wednesday, April 30, 9:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at Lacy Park located at 1485 Virginia Rd., San Marino, CA. The second 5K takes place on Thursday, October 30, from 9:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at the Silverlake Reservoir Trail located at 1850 W. Silver Lake Dr., Los Angeles, CA.

COST OF LIVING ADJUSTMENT EFFECTIVE JULY 1
The LACERS Board of Administration has approved the maximum allowable Cost-of-Living Adjustment (COLA) for eligible LACERS Retired Members and Beneficiaries at 3.0% for Tier 1 and Tier 1 Enhanced Members and 2.0% for Tier 3 Members. Tier 1 and Tier 1 Enhanced Members are City employees who became LACERS Members on or before February 20, 2016. Tier 3 Members are City employees who became LACERS Members on or after February 21, 2016.

ANNUAL NOTICE OF RIGHT TO ELECT OR REVOKE FEDERAL INCOME TAX WITHHOLDING
LACERS is required to inform you that your periodic benefit payments from LACERS may be subject to Federal Income Tax withholding unless you elect not to withhold. If your benefit becomes effective in 2025, and a completed Form W-4P is not on file with LACERS, your withholding will be calculated as if your filing status is Single with no adjustments. For benefits that began before 2025, your current withholding remains in effect unless you submit a new Form W-4P.
