LACERS OPEN ENROLLMENT HEALTH PLAN CHANGES BECOME EFFECTIVE JANUARY 1, 2026
LACERS’ Open Enrollment period ended November 17, and applications for health plan changes for the 2026 plan year are no longer being accepted.
Changes made during the Open Enrollment period will take effect on January 1, 2026. If you changed your health plan, your new health plan I.D. card will be mailed to you in mid-January. New deductions reflecting your health or dental plan changes will appear on your December 31, 2025, retirement check. The next opportunity to change your LACERS benefit plans will be during next year’s Open Enrollment period, unless you experience a qualifying event.

TURNING 65 SOON? SIMPLE STEPS TO ENROLLING IN A LACERS SENIOR HEALTH PLAN
If you or your covered dependent is approaching age 65, LACERS will automatically mail an Aging-In to Medicare packet to your address three months prior to your or your covered dependent’s 65th birthday. This packet will include LACERS Senior Health Plan enrollment forms and instructions on enrolling in Medicare.
Once enrolled in Medicare, complete the LACERS Senior Health Plan enrollment forms and return them along with a copy of your Medicare card or Social Security Administration Benefit Verification Letter showing your Medicare Beneficiary Identifier (MBI) to LACERS, to finalize enrollment into a LACERS Senior Health Plan. You must maintain your Medicare enrollment by paying your monthly Medicare premiums and any surcharges. For more information, visit the LACERS Medicare webpage at lacers.org/Medicare.
