In-Person Events Code of Conduct

LACERS commits to providing informative and welcoming interactions with all its guests and visitors, free from comments and behaviors that are offensive, disruptive, or discriminatory.

By interacting with LACERS’ staff, guests, and visitors, you are agreeing to the following Code of Conduct:

  • Maintain Professionalism & Respect - Please be courteous and respectful to all LACERS Staff, guests, and any other person(s) who may be visiting or attending a LACERS facility or event.
  • No Recording - Recording (visual and/or audio) or distributing LACERS’ footage is prohibited without explicit written consent from LACERS.
  • No Discrimination/Harassment/Intimidation - Discrimination, harassment, and intimidation in any form is unacceptable behavior and is prohibited.

Examples of unacceptable behavior include but are not limited to the following:

  • Comments related to gender, gender identity or expression, age, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, religion, national origin, or political affiliation;
  • Sexual harassment is a specific type of prohibited conduct. Sexual harassment is any unwelcome conduct of a verbal or non-verbal sexual nature that might reasonably be expected or be perceived to cause offense or humiliation. Sexual harassment may involve any conduct of a verbal or non-verbal nature, including written and electronic communications, and may occur between persons of the same or different genders;
  • Verbal or non-verbal abuse, or the threat of physical violence towards any LACERS Staff, guest, visitor, or any other person(s) attending a LACERS facility or event is strictly prohibited; and
  • Inappropriate comments about personal appearance are prohibited.
     
  • Substance Free - Use of intoxicating substances, including alcohol or drugs, while visiting any LACERS facility or while participating in any LACERS meeting or event is prohibited.
  • No Weapons - Weapons of any kind, including but not limited to handguns, knives, mace, or batons, are prohibited from any LACERS facility or event.

If LACERS determines that a person has violated any part of this Code of Conduct, LACERS authorized representatives, at their sole discretion may take any of the following actions:

  • Verbal or written warning;
  • Expulsion from the LACERS’ facility or event;
  • Suspension of attendance at LACERS’ facilities or events – both in-person and virtual;
  • Prohibited attendance at any future LACERS’ facility or event – both in-person and virtual;
  • Reporting unacceptable conduct to local law enforcement if a threat is perceived.
