If you are enrolled in any of LACERS medical plans (other than Kaiser Permanente), you and your enrolled dependents are automatically covered under Vision Service Plan (VSP). Kaiser Permanente members receive vision benefits directly from Kaiser Permanente. VSP covers a number of services after you satisfy your annual copayment.

You can see any licensed eye care specialist you like, but you can save money by choosing to see an optometrist or ophthalmologist who is a participating VSP eye care professional. Some services are limited to once every 12 or 24 months.

To locate a VSP eye care professional, visit their website at www.vsp.com or contact them at (800) 877-7195. To make an appointment with a VSP eye care professional, simply call the provider and identify yourself as a VSP patient. The doctor will verify eligibility with VSP directly. If you are not eligible at that time, the VSP doctor will call you back to advise you.
