CONFIRMATION OF YOUR ELECTION TO TRANSFER FROM LACERS TO LAFPP TIER 6

Thank you for participating in the Measure FF Transfer Program. You made an irrevocable election to transfer to Tier 6 of the Los Angeles Fire and Police Pensions (LAFPP) and to terminate your membership with the Los Angeles City Employees’ Retirement System (LACERS).

Accordingly, your membership, service credit, member contributions, and associated employer contributions will be transferred to LAFPP Tier 6. You have forfeited all rights and benefits earned under LACERS by electing to transfer. If you had established reciprocity with another agency, that reciprocal agreement is now broken and you must contact the other agency to determine how this impacts your benefits with them.

The effective date of your membership in LAFPP Tier 6 is January 11, 2026. Going forward, any questions regarding your pension benefits and healthcare options in retirement should be directed at LAFPP’s Active Member Services Section, which can be contacted by calling (213) 279-3140.

If there has been an error and you did not submit a Transfer Election Form, opting to transfer to LAFPP Tier 6, please contact LACERS immediately by calling: 1-800-779-8328.

Separately, LACERS will follow up with transferring members who:

• are now entitled to an interest-free refund of contributions made for LACERS Tier 1 enhanced benefits;
• have a Domestic Relations Order, marital settlement agreement, or property settlement agreement on file with LACERS that is now unenforceable;
• have an incomplete Service Purchase Agreement with LACERS; or
• must confirm their choice for a refund of Larger Annuity contributions.

Please note that any beneficiary forms on file with LACERS are now invalid and unenforceable. You must contact LAFPP to update your beneficiary designations, and to provide any necessary documentation to confirm a domestic partnership.
