Overview

The LACERS Board of Administration has seven Commissioners.  Four are appointed by the Mayor, two are elected by City employees and one is elected by retired Members.  All Commissioners have a term length of five years.

The City Clerk virtually conducted the Swearing-In Ceremony for Commissioner Michael R. Wilkinson on June 10, 2020. The ceremony was attended by the Commissioner’s family and friends as well as LACERS staff. Commissioner Wilkinson’s new term will be July 1, 2020 to June 30, 2025.

The City Clerk has certified the results of the Election for the Retired Member of the Board of Administration.  Based on the official results, Michael R. Wilkinson received 59.32% of the 4,280 votes cast. Commissioner Wilkinson will be sworn-in at a future Board Meeting.

Election Postcard Information

To ensure the safety of our members and to comply with the current Safer at Home Order issued by the Mayor, the method by which ballots will be accepted has been adjusted for the upcoming LACERS Board Election. 

Ballots for the LACERS Board Election will only be accepted through the mail. You must complete your ballot and return it in the envelope provided. To be counted, ballots must be received by 5:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 21, 2020.

The City Clerk – Election Division is closed to the public. If you damage, spoil, lose, or do not receive your official ballot, please contact the Office of the City Clerk – Election Division at (213) 978-0440. If you retired after March 18, 2020 and wish to vote, you must obtain a certificate verifying your eligibility to vote from LACERS by calling (800) 779-8328 or RTT (888) 349-3996.

Ballots will be tallied on Thursday, April 23, 2020, and the results will be posted to lacers.org once certified.

Retired Board Member Election

If you are a LACERS member who has retired on or prior to March 18, 2020, a ballot packet will be mailed to your mailing address. LACERS members retired after March 18, 2020 who wish to vote must obtain a certificate verifying their eligibility to vote by contacting LACERS at (800) 779-8328. Members may present the certificate to the Office of the City Clerk – Election Division in order to receive a ballot by calling (213) 978-0440.
