Rahoof “Wally” Oyewole

Mr. Rahoof “Wally” Oyewole received an appointment as Assistant General Manager in April 2026. Wally’s appointment marks his return to LACERS where he previously served from 2013 to 2022.  As Departmental Audit Manager from 2013 to 2020, Wally helped strengthen LACERS’ governance capabilities and internal controls. He steered a risk-based audit plan covering fiscal areas, technology, member benefits and services, investment operations, and vendor security assessments. Wally also served as Departmental Chief Accountant from 2020 to 2022, overseeing LACERS’ Fiscal Management Division.

From 2022 until his return to LACERS, Wally was the Director of Financial Analysis and Reporting with the Office of the Controller where he oversaw eight sections involved in managing the City’s fund accounting and appropriations, financial management systems support, and producing citywide mandated financial forecasts and reports. He also previously served in the Controller’s Audit Services Division, where he led financial and performance evaluations of several City departments and programs. Prior to joining the City in 2004, Wally served in the Los Angeles County Auditor-Controller Department.  

Wally has a bachelor’s degree in Accounting and a master’s degree in Business Administration from California State University, Dominguez-Hills. He holds a current license to practice in California as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA). He is a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) and a Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA). He also holds a Senior Certified Professional Designation from the Public Sector HR Association (PSHRA-SCP).
