Get ready to trade the pumpkin patches for Thanksgiving anticipation, because the path leading straight into November is packed with bright possibilities and so much to celebrate.

VOLUNTEER WITH THE CITY OF LA FOR THE 2028 OLYMPIC & PARALYMPIC GAMES!

Be part of history in your own city. During the 2028 Games, the City of Los Angeles will run its own volunteer program, and they’re looking for ambassadors to welcome visitors and help Angelenos make the most of this once-in-a-lifetime event. Volunteers will be stationed across LA, near competition venues, and at city-hosted celebrations.

Applications open in 2027, but you can register your interest today and be among the first to hear when they launch!  Register your interest using the online LA28 Olympic and Paralympic Games Volunteer Interest form.

LACERS OPEN ENROLLMENT IS NOW - NOVEMBER 16, 2026.

Until November 16, 2026, LACERS is accepting applications for new enrollments, health plan changes, and the addition of eligible dependents. Changes made during this period will become effective on January 1, 2027. If you wish to keep your current LACERS health coverage for 2027, you do not need to take any action. LACERS recommends reviewing the Open Enrollment materials to stay informed of your benefit options and costs.

The 2027 Open Enrollment Health Plan Statement is a “snapshot” of your coverage in our system as of August 19, 2026. Please review your statement to understand your current coverage, the 2027 health plan coverage costs, and plan options. If you are a New Retiree/Survivor or have made plan changes that are not reflected on your statement, please check your MyLACERS account to see your current coverage.

2027 OPEN ENROLLMENT PACKET

The 2027 Open Enrollment packet was mailed in early October to your address on file with LACERS as of August 19, 2026. The U.S. Postal Service does not forward the packet even if you have completed a “Change of Address” or “Forwarding Request”.

For Members age 65 and older with Medicare Part B only or Parts A & B, the packet consists of the 2027 Open Enrollment Statement, 2027 Health Benefits Guide, and the 2027 Open Enrollment Overview.

For Members who are under age 65, enrolled only in a LACERS Dental plan, participate in LACERS’ Medical Reimbursement Program (MPRP), or are not enrolled in a LACERS plan, the packet consists of the 2027 Open Enrollment Statement and the 2027 Open Enrollment Overview. Please access the 2027 Health Benefits Guide online from our website.

Both the 2027 Open Enrollment Overview and the 2027 Health Benefits Guide are available online.

Open Enrollment is here and will continue through November 16. If you are considering changing your health or dental plan, LACERS encourages you to attend an Open Enrollment meeting to learn more about benefit plan options and ask questions directly to LACERS and plan carrier representatives. Register through your MyLACERS account or by calling LACERS. Space is limited, so register now!
