2025 LACERS OPEN ENROLLMENT COMING SOON: OCTOBER 15 THROUGH NOVEMBER 18, 2024
LACERS Health Benefits Open Enrollment will be held from October 15 – November 18, 2024. This is your opportunity to enroll, make changes, or add eligible dependents to your LACERS medical or dental plan, with changes becoming effective January 1, 2025. If you do not wish to make changes, no action is required.
Open Enrollment packets will be mailed in early October.

We are officially changing the name of our Planning for Retirement Seminars to Retirement Benefit Seminars. This is because planning for retirement is something that all City employees should learn about well before they are eligible to retire.

Join Cabrillo Marine Aquarium staff and become a volunteer where you can become a Docent (Touring, Middle school & High school Summer, Spring Outdoor Program and Aquatic Nursery), Whale Watch Training Program, Education Volunteer, and Aquarist Assistant. SCAN/KAISER LUNCH & LEARN MEETING AT THE CALIFORNIA ENDOWMENT CENTER
This lunch-and-learn meeting will be held on Monday, August 19, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at The California Endowment Center, 1000 Alameda Street, Los Angeles, CA 90012. The session will educate Members on managing chronic conditions and preventing them from worsening.

LACERS COST OF LIVING ADJUSTMENT EFFECTIVE JULY 1
The LACERS Board of Administration has approved the maximum allowable Cost-of-Living Adjustment (COLA) for eligible LACERS Retired Members and Beneficiaries at 3.0% for Tier 1 and Tier 1 Enhanced Members and 2.0% for Tier 3 Members. Click here to view more information on the COLA increase and the availability of any banked excess. Retirees and Beneficiaries will receive the increase on their July 31st paycheck.

LACERS Board Elects Annie Chao as Board President
Annie Chao has been re-elected as Board President at the July 23 meeting for the term ending July 2025. Additionally, she has been re-elected to serve on the LACERS Board by the Active Members for the term ending June 30, 2029.
LACERS Board Elects Janna Sidley as Vice President
Janna Sidley has been elected as Vice President at the July 23 meeting for the term ending July 2025. She was also re-appointed to serve on the LACERS board by Mayor Bass for the June 30, 2029 term.

Sean Foy and LACERS Well are facilitating a 5K Hike-Walk-Run on Thursday, June 27, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Silverlake Reservoir Trail, 1850 W. Silver Lake Dr., Los Angeles, CA.

On Monday, June 3, LACERS will begin utilizing an appointment-based system to provide you with the convenience to coordinate getting all your retirement needs addressed on your schedule. There will be two options for appointments: in person, at our headquarters, and virtually, via Zoom. These new options will allow for timely and convenient access to get your questions answered.
